Just got the bad news late tonight that the Speedway at Murfreesboro, AR. has closed for the remainder of 2010 due to the economy. Racing is very expensive for promoters as well as racers, its a fine line between being able to have a show each week and operating in the red.

yep, my inlaws live in lockesburg (near texarkana) and when my and the family go to visit i always gotta get my fix by going over to Southwest Arkansas Super Speedway. With all the rain around here we was wanting to travel to get outta the rain and watch some racing so we called and the ecording said "Sorry but we are closed for the remainder of the 2010 season due to the economy. We hope to reopen for the 2011 season." This is sad b/c it is so hard for a track to open in arkansas (just ask james richeson) They have already shut down and re opened earlier this year.

Well, another one bites the dust. Owners get into the business and think it is all so great a profit margin.
We should thank ALL the owners/promoters for the sticktoitouis.
